Legends finish off final road trip with 4-2 victory

Delino Deshields Jr. doubled in Roberto Pena and Domingo Santana followed with an RBI single as the Lexington Legends scored two decisive runs in the top of the seventh inning en route to a 4-2 victory against the West Virginia Power in Charleston.

The Legends, who completed their final road trip of the season, jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first on a two-double by Mike Kvasnicka.

The Power, who took three out of five games in the series, got even in the fifth on doubles by Elias Diaz, Kevin Mort and Drew Maggi.

Manzella named to Hall

Tommy Manzella, a South Atlantic League All-Star with the Lexington Legends in 2006 who played in the majors with the Houston Astros in 2009, was elected to the Legends Hall of Fame.

The induction ceremony will take place at 6:45 p.m. Saturday before the Legends play the Savannah Sand Gnats at Whitaker Bank Ballpark.

Manzella batted .275 with 22 doubles, seven homers, 43 RBI and 16 stolen bases in 99 games with Lexington. He batted .319 in May and .313 in June, and he finished strong with a .327 mark in August.

Manzella is at Triple-A Reno in the Arizona Diamondbacks' organization.
