Warfield scores four TDs in Bryan Station's victory

361 yards, 4 TD's for Lafayette's Johnson

L.J. Warfield ran for two touchdowns and caught two more to help Bryan Station overcome a 12-0 first-quarter deficit in a 40-19 victory against visiting Clark County on Friday night.

The Cardinals' Pokey Harris was the star early, rushing for a 35-yard touchdown and following that up with another from 97 yards out.

But the Defenders, led by three of Warfield's TDs, scored the next 26 points.

Clark County quarterback Reid Campbell scored on a 1-yard run to close the gap to 26-19 with 3:31 to play in the fourth quarter. However, a 50-yard pass from Ora Johnson to L.J. Warfield 24 seconds later pushed Bryan Station's lead back out to 33-19.

The Defenders' Jaysuma Webb intercepted a pass by Campbell and took it back 80 yards for a score to finish off the Cardinals.

Warfield ran for 152 yards and caught three passes for 115 yards for Bryan Station. Harris ran for 198 yards for the Cardinals.

Lafayette 35, Owensboro 23: William Johnson totaled 361 yards of offense and scored four touchdowns to lead the Generals past visiting Owensboro. Johnson ran for 255 yards and three TDs and caught two passes for 106 yards, including an 85-yard score from Jeremy Smith.

Lexington Catholic 34, Male 26: The Knights scored 17 straight points to rally for the win at home. David Bouvier caught a 33-yard pass from Kyle Bolin to trim Male's lead to 26-24 with 11:31 to play. Jake Pumphrey kicked a 28-yard field goal to put the Knights in front, and Bolin scored on a 21-yard run with 2:24 left to finish off Male.

Bolin finished with three TD passes and 219 yards. Male's Aladin Ganibegovic ran for 106 yards, including a 57-yard score that gave Male a 26-17 lead.

East Jessamine 34, Paul Dunbar 20: Cameron Thomas ran for three touchdowns and caught another in the Jaguars' victory against visiting Dunbar. Thomas piled up 261 yards on 25 carries and scored on his only reception, a 52-yarder from Cody Garrett.

Dunbar's Blake Martin threw for 175 yards and one TD, and he also ran for a 6-yard score.

Scott Co. 35, Madison Central 6: The Cardinals totaled 295 yards on the ground, pounding their way to a win in Richmond. Josh Walls ran for 69 yards and four TDs, and Dierrius Dumphord gained 123 yards and scored once.

Franklin Co. 36, Frankfort 7: Ryan Timmons caught a 17-yard touchdown pass from Zach Bowman on the final play of the first quarter as the Flyers jumped out to a 20-0 lead on host Frankfort. Timmons also caught a 64-yard TD pass from Logan Woodside earlier in the quarter.

Trinity 56, Cincinnati Elder 7: Both Garrett Sauer and Dalyn Dawkins topped 100 yards rushing and scored two touchdowns in the Shamrocks' rout of host Cincinnati Elder. Sauer ran for 163 yards and his TDs covered 15 and 84 yards. Both of Dawkins' TDs were from 1 yard out and he finished with 124 yards.

James Quick caught two TD passes from Travis Wright, and he also returned a fumble for a score.

Lexington Christian 6, Cincinnati Hills Christian 3: Justin King returned a blocked punt 56 yards for a touchdown with 10 seconds left and LCA stunned host Hills Christian.

Breathitt Co. 44, Jackson Co. 7: Bobcats quarterback Richard Trent threw four touchdown passes — three to Wes Noble — and ran for another in a win at Jackson County. Will Collins added a pair of TD runs.
