The state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control issued 34 citations for minors in possession of alcoholic beverages during a targeted enforcement detail near the University of Kentucky campus on Saturday, during the UK-University of Louisville football game, according to a news release.
They also made one arrest for alcohol intoxication and issued a single citation for each of the following offenses: disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assisting a minor in purchasing alcoholic beverages, misrepresenting one's own age in purchasing alcoholic beverages and second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument.
Targeted enforcement details are usually held in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies at events with alcohol sales and many minors, such as the state fair and Keeneland meets. ABC investigators focus on alcohol violations while other agencies handle crowd control, traffic and related duties, the release stated.
Having ABC investigators present provides "an element of prevention," said Mike Razor, director of the Division of Enforcement.
