An employee of Big Lots in Frankfort was charged with arson Friday in connection with a Sept. 16 fire at the store, police said.
Angela K. Lynn, 33, of Frankfort admitted to a police detective that she started the fire with paper and left it unattended in the furniture-storage area of the store on U.S 127, according to a Frankfort police news release. Lynn gave no reason for her action, police said. The fire forced the evacuation of the store.
The arrest came after an investigation by the Frankfort police, the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, and the Kentucky State Fire Marshal's office.
Lynn was taken to the Franklin County jail. No bond had been set as of Friday afternoon. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
