Warren Creavelle scored a golden goal in the 99th minute to lift 10th-ranked Central Florida to a 2-1 win over No. 21 Kentucky in men's soccer on Wednesday night in Orlando, Fla.
Nik Robson lofted a corner kick at the far post, finding Creavalle who fired the game-winning goal past a diving UK keeper Tyler Beadle into the net at the near post.
The teams' Conference USA opener, played on a hot and humid night at the UCF Soccer Complex, was tied 1-1 at halftime and at the end of regulation.
Sophomore Tyler Riggs' team-leading ninth goal of the season put Kentucky (7-4-1) on the board first in the 14th minute.
After a 70-minute lightning delay, UCF (7-1-1) answered in the 39th minute when NCAA goals leader McKauly Tulloch got a ball from Creavalle and fired into the net at the near post.
Overall, UK fired 12 shots to UCFs 19, with UCF owning a 13-6 shot advantage in the second half and overtime. UK returns to action Sunday at noon against C-USA foe Florida International in Miami.
