Five University of Kentucky basketball recruiting targets are scheduled to play in Rupp Arena on Jan. 8 in an event dubbed "Rumble at the Rupp," according to the Web site FiveStarBasketball.com.
The nine-game schedule features several Kentucky schools, including Scott County and Bryan Station, in addition to teams from as far away as Illinois, Pennsylvania and New Hampshire.
The players UK is known to be recruiting are Andrew Wiggins of Huntington (W.Va.) Prep and Jabari Parker of Chicago Simeon, plus T.J. Warren, Mitch McGary and Jakarr Sampson of Brewster Academy in New Hampshire.

9 a.m.: Bourbon Co. vs. Madison Southern
10:30 a.m.: Perry Co. Central vs. Boone Co.
Noon: Clinton Co. vs. Bryan Station
1:30 p.m.: Chicago Whitney Young vs. Our Savior New American (N.Y.)
3 p.m.: Kiski (Pa.) vs. Brewster Academy (N.H.)
4:30 p.m.: Huntington Prep (W.Va.) vs. Chicago Simeon

The Madness is building
The tent count at the Big Blue Madness camp-out outside Memorial Coliseum climbed to about 500 on Thursday afternoon, according to UK.
Campers have received visits from Coach John Calipari, former UK coach Joe B. Hall and some of the players.
Fans are waiting to collect tickets for UK's annual Big Blue Madness celebration of the opening of basketball practice on Oct. 14 in Rupp Arena. Control cards will be issued to those camped out on Friday at 2 p.m., and the ticket distribution begins Saturday at 7 a.m.
Louisville alumni event set
The Greater Louisville UK Alumni Club will host its annual Wildcat Tip-off Luncheon on Oct. 12 at the Louisville Marriott Downtown, the school announced Thursday.
Doors open at 11:30 a.m. for lunch and the program will begin at noon.
Tickets are $40 for members and $45 for non-members. All proceeds benefit the University of Kentucky Alumni Scholarship Endowment fund.
