Two men were arrested and more than 50 pounds of marijuana were seized Monday in a drug case in Breathitt County.

Juan Manuel Perez Neito, 35, of Alcoa, Tenn., and Fred Napier Jr., 42, of Clayhole were arrested Monday afternoon on charges of trafficking in more than five pounds of marijuana. More charges are possible, according to a news release from state police.

State police said the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task Force has investigated the case for two months.

State police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that Napier was driving, and a state police drug dog "alerted on drugs which were in the vehicle," the news release stated. After that, two search warrants were executed in Breathitt County, and more than 50 pounds of marijuana, cash and weapons were seized.

State police said anyone with information about illegal drug activity should call 1-800-367-3847.
