Question: What are your personal goals for this coming season?

Answer: I have to be a leader on this team. I'm the older guy now. I'm the senior now. I'm just focused on trying to get everybody ready for the season. And I think we're all ready to go. Just trying to put in as much work as possible.

Q: What does leadership mean?

A: First of all, I have to start off by leading by example. I have to work hard every day. Nobody is really going to listen to a person if he's not doing it himself. Then I have to be more vocal and aggressive, especially with our younger guys.

Q: How well does being aggressive and vocal come naturally to you?

A: I've been in this situation before. I just have to do it again.

Q: When before?

A: Back in high school when I won a state championship. Obviously, this is a different stage with a different level of talent and competition. But, as I said before, I've been here before.

Q: What have you learned by observing other UK players take the leadership role in past seasons?

A: I think the best one I've seen do it was Pat (Patrick Patterson). He did a good job of being vocal and leading by example. I think everybody had an extreme amount of respect for him, and everybody listened to him. He might not have been the biggest name or had the best numbers, but he definitely was the biggest part of the team. He kept everybody in line and let everybody know what they needed to do.

Q: What does this senior season mean to you?

A: It means a lot to me. I want my senior season to be remembered for a long time. Hopefully, we can go out and get us a national championship.

Q: Do you want your own play to be memorable?

A: Oh, definitely, definitely. I have to go out and perform, too. I know I have to up my game more than I have in the past couple years.

Q: What do you mean by "up your game?"

A: In every aspect.

Q: Be more assertive?

A: Yeah, that, too.

Q: Take the initiative offensively?

A: That, too. I have to be more aggressive on and off the court.
