Steve Beshear proclaimed the day "Lexington Humane Society Adopt Love Day." The new adoption center is only the seventh of its kind in the United State and is expected to help the Lexington Humane Society find homes for an additional 500 animals a year. During the grand opening week, the Lexington Humane Society saw more than 100 animals adopted.
