Bill Johnson

I am an engineering graduate of the University of Kentucky with an MBA from the College of William and Mary. I am a Navy nuclear engineering veteran, small business owner and corporate business leader.

I have in-depth knowledge of information technology, process improvement and procurement. I have managed $1 billion dollars of purchasing, cut $300,000 from private sector companies, implemented large-scale information technology projects and improved product quality.

Most recently, I answered the call to help teach high school math during the primary election. It is time for private sector experience and military discipline in Frankfort.

The secretary of state is an advocate for job creation and civics education. However, a key responsibility of the secretary of state is as chief election officer responsible for honest and fair elections.

To maintain the integrity of our elections, I will work to ensure all voters are required to show a picture ID before voting.

Additionally, I will use my private-sector background to make the office of aecretary of state more efficient through automation and elimination of unnecessary regulation. And I will visit schools throughout Kentucky to discuss civics and encourage good citizenship.

A pro-life, pro-gun conservative, I live in Todd County with my wife, Delinda, and our two children. A native of Casey County, my wife is a teacher and loving wife. We will celebrate our 23rd wedding anniversary in November.
