A woman has been charged with murder and robbery in the death of a Knott County man on Saturday.

At 11:45 a.m. Saturday , Kentucky State Police at Hazard received a call that a man was lying beside Steer Fork Road, in the Pine Top community of Knott County, police said.

Ruby Slone, 60, of Mallie, was found dead of an apparent gun shot wound.

Shauna L. Lopez, 29, of Melvin was charged with murder, first degree robbery, and tampering with physical evidence. Lopez was lodged in Kentucky River Regional Jail in Hazard, where no bond has been set at this time. Slone's body was sent to the State Medical Examiners Office for an autopsy.
