What's next: Public, legislative meetings on Rupp set for Wednesday

The future of Lexington's Rupp Arena will be on the agenda of two meetings Wednesday. Lexington Mayor Jim Gray is supposed to discuss Rupp in a presentation in Frankfort to a legislative committee. And the city's consultant will solicit residents' ideas for the area at 6 p.m.

Here are the details:

Gray will make a presentation in Frankfort before the legislative Interim Joint Committee on Local Government at 10 a.m. The Mayor will discuss the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement (BEAM), the Rupp Arena Arts and Entertainment District and pension reform. The meeting will be held in Room 171 of the Capitol Annex, Frankfort.

Consultant Gary Bates will lead a public forum to solicit ideas from the community on the proposed Arena, Arts & Entertainment District, and discuss the future of the Lexington Center and Rupp Arena from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lexington Children's Theatre, 418 West Short Street.
