Kentucky women move up to No. 6 in AP poll

Top 7 remain the same in Men's poll

The Kentucky women's basketball team moved up two spots to No. 6 in the Associated Press poll released Monday.

In their only game last week, the Cats whipped Samford 90-61 to improve to 11-1. UK's next game is at Middle Tennessee State at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Baylor is still the unanimous choice as the No. 1 team, and the top five remained unchanged.

The Lady Bears received all 40 first-place votes Monday for the fourth straight week after blowing out McNeese State in their only game.

Connecticut remains second, with Notre Dame, Stanford and Maryland following.

Kentucky, Tennessee, Duke, Ohio State and Texas A&M round out the top 10.

Men's poll: With Syracuse No. 1 for a third straight week, the top seven remained the same in AP Top 25. The Orange received 54 first-place votes from the 65-member national media poll on Monday. Ohio State, Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, Baylor and Duke held their places.
