Kentucky agriculture commissioner, auditor call joint press conference

Kentucky Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, who took office at the beginning of the year, will have a joint press conference Wednesday with new state Auditor Adam Edelen. Neither office would comment on the reason.

Comer succeeded fellow Republican Richie Farmer, a University of Kentucky basketball icon who was elected to two terms as agriculture commissioner despite having no previous political experience.

Farmer, who was Senate President David Williams' running mate in Williams' unsuccessful campaign for governor, was plagued by several eyebrow-raising incidents, including questions about spending on travel, hotel rooms and state vehicles.
