  • The airport in Nashville has released security video footage of Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul after he was detained by the Transportation Security Administration at the airport, reports the Tennessean. The  security video of U.S. Sen. Rand Paul at a Nashville International Airport checkpoint doesn’t show him being "irate," as police asserted.
  • Madonna Badger, the mother of three children killed in a Christmas house fire, has attempted suicide, reports the New York Daily News. Badger's parents, Lomer and Pauline Johnson, also died in the fire. Badger grew up in Lyndon, Ky., and is now staying with family in Kentucky, according to CNN.com.
  • Kentucky photographer Shelby Lee Adams is profiled on National Public Radio's blog The Picture Show. Adams said of his time taking pictures in Kentucky, "When you go into a holler, it's not a normal day. You may go somewhere and someone's grandma is lying on the bed dying. Another woman down the road might be about to deliver a baby." Adams has a new book, Salt & Truth.
