Somerset: A woman from Eubank was injured when her car was hit by a train about 12:30 p.m. Monday.
Mary Rutherford, 53, was driving a Ford Focus when she stopped in the middle of a railroad crossing on Freedom Church Road about 10 miles north of Somerset and was hit by a northbound train, according to a news release from the Pulaski County sheriffs office.
The sheriff was still investigating to determine what caused Rutherford to stop on the tracks. She was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, where she was listed in fair condition Monday night.
