East Jessamine middle students get firsts
Students from East Jessamine Middle School won first-place awards in a Junior American Citizens contest sponsored by the Daughters of the American Revolution Bryan Station Chapter. The student projects focused on the theme of "Preserving America's Past." Saydee Eagan, Valerie Bender, and Chancey Wallace won in the banner category. Jennifer Bourland won in the stamp category, and Matthew Becknell won in the essay category. All five students will advance to the state competition.
