  • A young cellist from Owensboro, Kevin Olusola, is one of The Grio's 100 Making History and is profiled by The Today Show. Olusola has become a YouTube sensation for his innovative method of combining beatboxing and classical cello. "Kevin’s a 23-year-old, multitalented, overachieving, 'cello-boxing,' Mandarin-speaking, saxophone-playing, pre-med Yale graduate who came in second in a Yo-Yo Ma cello competition and first on NBC’s a cappella show The Sing-Off," said The Today Show profile.
  • Kentucky Republican U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield has been trying "to prop up the United States Enrichment Corp.’s plant — and its 1,200 jobs — in Paducah, Ky. The plant’s half-century-old technology has significant power requirements, and USEC needs new enrichment contracts with the Department of Energy to keep it afloat," reports Politico.com. "One industry source characterized USEC’s bind this way: 'There’s this old, crappy Chevy in Kentucky, and we’ve got the promise of a car that runs on cold fusion in Ohio. Neither one of these things has a great outlook.'"
  • Groundhog Day is one of my favorite movies. Enjoy the 'Ned' scenes on Groundhog Day.
