A one-vehicle crash on Paris Pike on Saturday killed Travis K. Brown, 22, of Paris, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.

At 3:16 p.m., an inbound 1998 Acura ran off the road between Muir Station Road and Ironworks Pike, then careened up an embankment and into a ditch, police said.

Brown, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, police said. He was pronounced dead at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital at 4:03 p.m.

He was the only one in the vehicle.

Lt. Mark Brand said speed and a wet road likely contributed to the crash.
