Tanker spill in creek leads to evacuations but no injuries

Virgie: A tanker hauling an explosive ­powder overturned into a creek in Eastern Kentucky on Monday, prompting some evacuations. Kentucky State Police said no injuries were reported from the single-vehicle wreck or the spill of the substance into the creek. A half-mile area was evacuated.

The wreck happened on Ky. 3415 in the Robinson Creek community of Floyd County. According to a news release from state police, the tanker leaked a powder substance, which was a premixed fuel and ammonium nitrate blasting agent.
