- A Hollandale, Minnesota, man has been charged with marrying a woman even though he is already married to another woman in Madison County, Kentucky, reports the Albert Lea Tribune. Wayne Allen DeMay, 41, faces one felony count of bigamy in Freeborn County District Court. According to court records in Madison County, DeMay is still married to Brigette Ann Beaumont Demay.
- FrancisePlus.com reports that KFC is the first fast food restaurant to end the market in the Palestinian territories. The Lousivlle-based company is opening a store in the city of Ramallah in the West Bank. "Despite some Palestinian groups calling for a boycott of Bakri's KFC store because of American support for Israel, the store opened and served several hungry Palestinian customers," according to the news report. The Associated Press reports on the international growth of Yum Brands, owner of KFC.
- National Public Radio's Weekend Edition has been following the health of a houseboat manufacturer based in Columbia, Ky., Majestic Yachts. CEO Jim Hadley said, "We are probably 20 percent of full capacity. Our sales were hanging in there. As an industry, there were 13 manufacturers in our area three years ago. Today, there's only five left. We currently don't have any new orders. We did build one new order the last year, but things are starting to turn around just a little bit more.
We have been very, very fortunate in that we have brought five of our employees back, with the three of us that are already here; gives us a total of eight people."
Adena Springs owner Frank Stronach has increased his Marion County, Florida, land holdings in the past two years nearly sixfold, making him the largest private property owner in the county with 29,000 acres more than Walt Disney World, reports Ocala.com Stronach has plans for a cattle ranch with tens of thousands of grass-fed, hormone-free cattle for beef production. The international car parts magnet bought the Adena Springs spread during the 1990s. It is one of five such farms he owns across the United States and Canada, including his farm in Kentucky. The new cattle operation will be called Adena Springs Ranch.
