FROM PRESS RELEASE: On Friday February 10th......Ronald McDonald will be helping Rosa Parks Elementary students learn the value of leadership and community involvement. He will be speaking on ÒGiving Back to the CommunityÓ as students kick-off a fund raiser and collection drive for the Ronald McDonald House. The goal is to get students to bring in household items that the Ronald McDonald House can use to help provide a Òhome away from homeÓ for families who travel to Lexington seeking medical care for children. This campaign started as a student leadership project, grew into two Girl Scout Troops, troops #813 and #82 (most of the girls go to Rosa Parks) pushing the donation drive and blossomed into a school-wide effort. Collections will take place the week of February 13th with items scheduled to be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House on Monday February 20th. Photo by David Perry | Staff HERALD-LEADER Buy Photo
