The 109th edition of the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships is under way in Baton Rouge, La. The tournament runs daily until July 10, with competition from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m.
The 151-day event will draw more than 12,000 five-player teams and the bowlers will compete for more than $5 million in prize money. The bowlers will compete on 48 lanes in the Baton Rouge River Center, which also hosted the 2005 edition of the tournament.
LWBA hosts tournament
The Lexington Women's Bowling Association will begin its 67th annual tournament Saturday at Collins Bowling Centers-Eastland, with team competition shifts at 1 and 4 p.m. On Feb. 19, the 19th singles and doubles events will be held at 1 and 4 p.m. The event concludes Feb. 25 with shifts at 1 and 4 p.m. featuring team, singles and doubles competition.

Feb. 25-26 and March 3-4: The 72nd Lexington Area Bowling Association Tournament at Capital Bowl in Frankfort. The entry fee is $25 per bowler per event. Entry forms are available at all area bowling centers.
