High school basketball highlights: Feb. 12

Boys

■ Reid Freeman hit four three-pointers and scored 28 points to go with five rebounds and two assists in Sayre's 74-64 victory at home against Louisville Christian. The teams combined for 57 points in the fourth quarter.

Ray Brewer added 22 points and nine rebounds for the Spartans, and Justin Sanders had 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists.

■ Caleb Ford, a senior forward, led all scorers with 24 points and sophomore Dillon Pulliam hit five three-pointers to lead Harrison County to a 62-61 victory against Paul Laurence Dunbar in the Shoot for the Cure Classic at Nicholas County. William Gary scored 17 for the Bulldogs.

■ Jordan Green had 21 points, and Trey Gundy scored 12 and grabbed 10 rebounds in No. 7 Henry Clay's 79-57 victory against Pendleton County in the Shoot for the Cure Classic at Nicholas County. All 15 of Teddy Ware's points came from three-point range.

Jared Rering led the Wildcats with 16 points and nine rebounds.

■ Top-ranked Louisville Trinity's Miles Rice was 5-for-5 from three-point range and finished with a career-high 19 points in the Shamrocks' 85-62 victory against visiting Central. Rice scored the first 10 points for Trinity in the second quarter.

■ Donavan Halsel scored 19 points and No. 14 Warren Central held on for a 78-74 victory at home against Elizabethtown. The Dragons (20-7), who were outscored 25-12 at the free-throw line, also got 12 points and five assists from Norman Johnson.

■ Alex Beckerson, a junior forward, had 33 points and 14 rebounds, and Burgin (20-7) reached the 20-win mark for the first time since 1971 with a 78-51 victory against visiting Oneida Baptist. Burgin's school record for wins in a season is 22.

■ Omar Prewitt had 18 points and 14 rebounds in Montgomery County's 62-54 victory against Fleming County in the Shoot for the Cure Classic at Nicholas County. Tanner Combs came off the bench to add nine points and eight rebounds for the Indians.

Frankfort's Aaron Jackson scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 69-66 overtime victory at Whitefield.

■ Sophomore Justin Johnson had 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Sheldon Clark (22-5) defeated host Lawrence County 54-36.

■ Trevor Hunt, a senior guard, had 18 points and 13 rebounds in Spencer County's 74-70 victory at Grant County.

Pikeville sophomore Wes Anderson had 12 points and 10 rebounds in a 49-42 victory against visiting Pike Central.

Girls

■ Micah Jones scored 19 of her 31 points in the fourth quarter and overtime in Green County's 69-62 victory against Wayne County in the Cancer Awareness Classic at Pulaski County. Wayne County's Jessica Hardin, who finished with 24 points, hit a tying 15-footer at the end of regulation.

■ Peyton Hisel had 12 points and 16 rebounds in host Tates Creek's 52-36 win against Conner.

■ Seniors Miranda Davenport and Kalee Carroll scored 18 and 12 points, respectively, in Harlan County's 69-52 victory against visiting North Laurel. Eighth-grader Brooklyn Massingill added 12 for the Lady Bears (20-6).

■ Nadia Fletcher was 10-for-11 from the free-throw line and finished with 15 points, and John Hardin (18-7) defeated visiting Meade County 49-42. Zacchea Small added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

■ Cassie Bray scored 18 points, all on three-pointers, in Somerset's 49-24 win at home against Cumberland County.
