A man died in a single vehicle crash in Washington County early Saturday.

Michael Sallee, 21, was driving a 1995 Ford south on Ky. 53, 2 miles north of Willisburg, when the vehicle dropped off the right shoulder of the road, hit the guardrail and then hit a tree at about 2:50 a.m., according to a news release from state police.

Sallee, who was wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene. State police said they do not know what caused Sallee to leave the road.
