Darius Miller sparked a 12-0 run for UK. The Cats made it look easy on offense as the lead reached 38-22. The Gators finished the half on a 10-2 run, and UK's lead was 40-32. The Gators came out running in the second half and were within two, 46-44. Anthony Davis then showed why he's a top candidate for Player of the Year, and UK pulled back out 54-44. The UK defense went into lockdown mode, and the Cats made it 16-0 in the SEC.

Telling numbers

■ Terrence Jones shot 7-for-8 to start the game, and UK started 17-for-28.

■ While the pace seemed frantic, Florida had only two fast-break points in the first half. UK had none for the game.

■ 16-0. It's hard to beat perfect.

■ Florida was 2-for-11 on three-pointers in the second half.

■ Bradley Beal was 1-for-10 shooting. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist does the small things again.

■ Patric Young was 10-for-15 shooting. The rest of the Gators were 11-for-40.

Thumbs up

■ Terrence Jones had a mismatch early and took it to the Gators. He looked like the pre-season All-American he was.

■ Anthony Davis showed a lot of promise early this year, but we don't know that anyone expected this.

Thumbs Down

■ Kentucky's transition defense was slow getting back at times.
