A trial date has been set for a man accused of shooting and killing a Lexington dermatologist in September.

Marty Lee Roe, 65, charged in the slaying of Dr. Martha Post, appeared before Judge James Ishmael on Friday in Fayette Circuit Court. The judge scheduled the trial for Jan. 22 to 31.

Roe will be tried on charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence and harassing communications. Post, 55, was fatally shot as she was leaving her Huguenard Drive practice Sept. 1. Police have said a man they think is Roe was seen on surveillance video approaching Roe's van just before the shooting.

Roe is scheduled for a status hearing May 11.
