NCAA title brings $350,000 bonus for Calipari

The University of Kentucky's success in NCAA basketball tournaments this year mean bonuses totaling almost $1 million for men's Coach John Calipari, women's Coach Matthew Mitchell and Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart.

The largest is a $350,000 bonus for Calipari for winning the NCAA title. For UK's season of success, Calipari will receive total combined bonuses of $750,000.

Here is a final tally of their post-season bonuses, according to their contracts.

Broadcasting, endorsements: $3.4 million

Bonuses:

SEC regular season title: $50,000

Making NCAA Sweet 16: $100,000

Making NCAA Elite Eight: $100,000

Making NCAA Final Four: $150,000

NCAA Championship: $350,000

Total bonuses: $750,000

Mitch Barnhart

UK athletics director

Base salary: $600,000

Bonuses:

Women's basketball team winning SEC regular season title: $15,000

Men's basketball team making the NCAA tournament: $25,000

Men's basketball team making the NCAA Final Four: $25,000

Total bonuses: $65,000

Matthew Mitchell

UK women's basketball coach

Base salary: $250,000

Broadcasting, endorsements: $375,000

Bonuses:

SEC regular season title: $25,000

Making NCAA tournament: $20,000

Making NCAA Sweet 16: $40,000

Making NCAA Elite Eight: $60,000

Total bonuses: $145,000
