Legends rally before losing to Suns in 11 innings

The Lexington Legends rallied to tie their game against the host Hagerstown Suns at seven apiece in the seventh inning before losing 8-7 in the 11th inning on Monday night in Maryland.

Bryce Ortega and Jason Martinson both singled off Legends reliever Luis Cruz in the Suns' half of the 11th. Caleb Ramsey singled to score Ortega and deliver the victory for Hagerstown.

The Legends trailed 7-3 entering the seventh before scoring four runs. The first came on a ground-rule double by Alex Todd and the other three scored on a bases-loaded single by Zachary Johnson and an error by major-leaguer Michael Morse, who is on a rehabilitation assignment.

Todd and Johnson both had three hits for the Legends.

First pitch by Miller

Kentucky basketball senior Darius Miller will throw the out the first pitch before the Legends' home opener on at 7:05 p.m. Thursday.

The Legends will host the Kannapolis Intimidators. Gates will open at 5 p.m., and Chris Campbell Band will play before and after the game.
