Calipari taking Kentucky's championship trophy on tour

The University of Kentucky is giving fans a chance to get a closer look at the men's basketball team's NCAA championship trophy during a statewide tour beginning Thursday.

At stops Thursday and Friday, Coach John Calipari will address fans and take questions from the crowd, and fans will have photo opportunities with the trophy.

TOUR SCHEDULE

All times tentative, subject to change

Thursday

Noon-1 p.m. — Ashland (Kroger at 711 Martin Luther King Blvd.)

2:30-3:30 p.m. — Pikeville (Expo Center at 126 Main Street, Billy Johnson Stage)

5-6 p.m. — Hazard (Perry County Park at 354 Perry Park Road)

Friday

The UK staff will board a train in Nicholasville that will take them through Midway at 11:05 a.m. and arrive in Frankfort at 11:45 a.m.

11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. — Frankfort (Old Capitol Annex at 300 W. Broadway)

2:30-3:30 p.m. — Elizabethtown (Kroger at 111 Towne Drive)

4-5 p.m. CDT — Owensboro (Kroger at 2630 Frederica Street)

7:30-8:30 p.m. CDT — Paducah (Kroger at 3141 Park Avenue)

Saturday

Saturday's stops include the trophy only (no coaches):

10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Lexington (Verizon Wireless of Hamburg at 1895 Vendor Way)

4-7 p.m. — Louisville (Verizon Wireless of Old Brownsboro Crossing at 4830 Norton Healthcare Blvd.)
