A backhoe was parked at a groundbreaking ceremony for the University of Kentucky New Central Residence Hall to be built in the field adjacent to Haggin Hall at the corner of University Dr. and Huguelet Ave. in Lexington, Ky., Tuesday, April 17, 2012. This living-learning housing community is the first phase of a project that aims to undertake a total revitalization of all UK on-campus student housing. The 601-bed community will include classrooms and meeting space along with modern accommodations and state-of-the-art technology. It is scheduled for occupancy in fall 2013.
