In advance of its quarterly earnings announcement next week, Lexington-based Lexmark International planned to unveil a new series of printers Thursday morning that look to bolster its offerings in the critical color laser segment.
The new printers include the C740 series, as well as the X740 series that adds capabilities including scanning and copying. All print at 35 pages a minute in black and color.
The X740 series and C748 family include 7-inch and 4.3-inch color touch screens, respectively.
"Our customers can depend on these high-caliber products for a wide range of needs," said Lexmark executive vice president Marty Canning in a statement.
Among those needs are the ability to reduce how often users have to change paper, improve security by offering more straight-out-of-the-box features and helping businesses ensure the proper printing of certain colors.
To those ends, the printers come with a maximum paper input capacity of 4,300 sheets, which the company touts as the highest in the industry for those type of printers.
The printers also include security programs like authentication and hard-disk wiping as standard features.
Another standard offering is the Lexmark Named Color Replacement, which allows businesses to store pre-defined colors such as a certain red used in a logo to ensure marketing materials match other signage.
The printers range in price from $699-$1,199 for the C746 family, $999-$1,499 for the C748 family and $2,199-$2,799 for the X748 family. All of them are available immediately at Lexmark.com.
