A Stanford man died at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital on Friday morning, shortly after his motorcycle collided with a pickup on U.S. 27 in Jessamine County, authorities said.

The Fayette County coroner's office identified the victim as Morris Dwane White, 42. The coroner listed multiple blunt force trauma as the cause of death.

According to the Nicholasville Police Department, the crash occurred about 7:30 a.m. Friday at U.S. 27 and Commerce Drive.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated White was traveling north on U.S. 27 when a southbound Toyota pickup attempted a left turn onto Commerce Drive and traveled directly into the path of the motorcycle.

The collision threw the White off the motorcycle and over the pickup, officers said.

Police said the truck driver was shaken up but was not taken to the hospital.

The northbound lanes of U.S. 27 were closed for more than two hours while police worked the scene.
