The Indiana-Kentucky basketball and football series have come to an end for the time being, but fans interested in a border battle can focus their attentions on baseball Wednesday.

Kentucky (37-11) visits Bloomington for a non-conference game against Indiana (24-24).

The Hoosiers have won six of their last seven games and are in second place in the Big Ten Conference.

Kentucky, 22-2 in non-conference games this season, is ranked No. 7 in the nation.

The Wildcats are coming off a series defeat at the hands of fifth-ranked Florida. UK lost the first two games, before rebounding for a 2-1 win Saturday.

Freshman right-hander Chandler Shepherd (3-0, 4.17 ERA) of Lawrence County is scheduled to start for Kentucky. The Hoosiers are expected to counter with sophomore right-hander Ryan Halstead (3-2, 5.61 ERA).

The Wildcats have been paced by an explosive offense that leads the Southeastern Conference in nearly every category. UK has hit .304 with 98 doubles, 49 homers and 318 runs scored.

Indiana has hit .268 with 87 doubles, 33 homers and 272 runs scored.

UK leads the all-time series with Indiana 17-15, having won three of the past four meetings.
