Harrodsburg city commissioner withdraws resignation

May 10, 2012

Harrodsburg City Commissioner Marvin "Bubby" Isham will not resign after all. At a meeting Thursday night, the commission learned that Isham had withdrawn his resignation, Commissioner Scott Moseley said.

Isham had submitted a resignation letter last week after the other commissioners did not second his motion to fire Cemetery Sexton Jerri Carter. Isham argues that Carter should be fired after tires and other debris were found buried in several spots of Spring Hill Cemetery.

Isham says Carter ordered the debris to be buried in the cemetery. Carter would not respond to Isham's allegations this week.

Meanwhile, Harrodsburg police continue to investigate how the debris came to be buried in the cemetery.
