A Jessamine County man died Sunday evening after he was run over by his own bush hog, which is a rotary mower attached to a tractor, according to the Jessamine County Sheriff's Office.
John P. Blackford, 73, was discovered by a neighbor under the bush hog in his barn on Hunters Ferry Road southeast of Nicholasville. The tractor, which was still running, had traveled forward until it hit a barn pole, Chief Deputy Allen Peel said.
"Apparently, he was working on his tractor and it was running and he just got caught underneath it," Peel said. Deputies were sent to the scene at 9 p.m.
