Versailles Mayor Fred Siegelman announced Sunday via Facebook that there would be a parade 6 p.m. Thursday to honor the Woodford County High School baseball team. The Yellowjackets won the Kentucky National Insurance/KHSAA State Tournament at Whitaker Bank Ballpark before the second largest crowd in tournament history — 5,111.

The win gave Woodford County its first state title in any sport other than wrestling, Siegelman said. He said the parade would start at the community education center at 299 S. Main St. in Versailles and end at the high school, 180 Frankfort St., in reverse of normal parade routes.
