A 47-year-old Nicholasville man has been charged with 50 counts of rape in Hardin County involving a juvenile who gave birth to his baby when she was 13, according to state police.

Jessamine County sheriff's deputies arrested Alfred Charles Ivey, Jr.on June 10.

The charges stemmed from an investigation into allegations by a woman who said recently that she was raped repeatedly by Ivey while living in his Elizabethtown home from 1999 to 2004, police said. She is not related to Ivey. A paternity test showed Ivey was the father of the child to whom the woman gave birth in 2004 when she was 13, police said.

Ivey was taken to the Hardin County Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.
