A 20-year-old man was killed with a blunt object in Elizabethtown on Saturday and another man has been charged with murder.

State police were called to 130 Magers Drive in Elizabethtown at 2:36 p.m. by a woman who said that Jamie Wagers, 24, of Elizabethtown had hit another man in the head with a blunt object and was still chasing him, according to a news release from state police.

When they arrived, state troopers found the body of Christian F. Higdon, of Clarkson in Grayson County, in the yard of another home on the street.

Higdon had "a significant injury to the back of his head" and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the news release.

State police told The News-Enterprise in Elizabethtown that Higdon had been hit with a hatchet.

Wagers was arrested and taken to the Hardin County Detention Center, where he was being held Monday on $500,000 cash bond. He is charged with murder and violating a protective order.
