Fans will have a chance to meet several players from the University of Kentucky's 1996 national championship men's basketball team this weekend.
The former players are getting together in Central Kentucky for events benefitting the Derek Anderson Foundation.
Players confirmed to be attending are: Derek Anderson, Tony Delk, Walter McCarty, Jeff Sheppard, Anthony Epps, Antoine Walker, Ron Mercer and Wayne Turner.
The 1995-96 Wildcats finished 34-2 overall and 16-0 in the Southeastern Conference en route to winning Kentucky's sixth national championship.
The weekend's activities include:
■ Team autograph signing at Chrysler on Nicholasville (Friday from 6-7:30 p.m.)
■ Team bowling tournament with the fans at JD Legends Bowling in Nicholasville (Friday from 8-10 p.m.)
■ Fund-raiser/launch party for "Victory H20" bottled water to benefit Anderson's foundation. The Derek Anderson Foundation has a mission of assisting abused and battered women and children, as well as feeding and supplying underprivileged children who are without guidance.
