Here's a sampling of Independence Day-related festivities in Central Kentucky.

Lexington activities include: ■ Bluegrass 10,000 race, 7:30 a.m. ■ Downtown Street Festival 9 a.m.-6 p.m. ■ Entertainment sites: Cheapside Park, ­Lexington History Museum on Short Street, CentrePointe lot, Phoenix Park, Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza ■ Kids Zone in parking lot at E. Short St. and 
N. Limestone. Free craft activities 10 a.m.-2 p.m. ■ Reading of the Declaration of Independence at Main Street and Fifth Third Bank after the Bluegrass 10,000 awards ceremony ■ Parade from Midland Avenue down Main Street to Broadway, 2 p.m. ■ July 4th Live! Band and Location TBA, 7:00-9:30pm ■ Downtown fireworks, 10 p.m.

Note: Because of the dry weather, some organizers might cancel fireworks displays. Keep an eye out for news on that front as the Fourth draws closer.

Georgetown and Scott County. July 4. Parade at 11 a.m. on Main St., Georgetown. Events throughout day at Brooking Park, including fireworks at 9 p.m.
