Three second-inning triples help Legends build early lead in 7-5 win at Greenville

The Lexington Legends jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the second inning and went on to defeat the host Greenville Drive 7-5 on Saturday night. The Legends had three triples in the second and all five of the runs came with two outs.

Delino DeShields Jr. led the way with three hits, including a pair of doubles. Justin Gominsky and Jordan Scott had two hits apiece.

Lexington starter Mike Foltynewicz improved to 11-2 after giving up four runs in six innings.

Foltynewicz became the Legends' career leader for victories. He has 16 in two seasons.

Matt Duffy got Lexington's big inning started by leading off the second with his 26th double of the season.

Brandon Meredith grounded out and Mike Kvasnicka struck out before Nolan Fontana and Gominsky both hit run-scoring triples.

Scott singled to knock in Gominsky and DeShields' first double of the game sent Scott home.

Ruben Sosa knocked in DeShields with the Legends' third triple of the inning.
