A 31-year-old woman was killed Saturday morning when her vehicle ran off the Bluegrass Parkway in Woodford County, authorities said.
The Versailles Police Department identified the victim as Jessica Snipp of Versailles. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred about 11:30 a.m. near the parkway's Huntertown Road Overpass, police said.
According to police, Snipp was driving east on the parkway in a 2011 Nissan Cube when the vehicle left the right side of the roadway. Officers said Snipp apparently overcorrected and lost control of her car, which then crossed the median and the westbound lanes before crashing into the Huntertown Road bridge.
Snipp was not wearing a seat belt, police said.
