CYNTHIANA — The body of a 23-year-old Harrison County man who drowned Saturday night in the South Fork of the Licking River was found Sunday morning, according to the Cynthiana Fire Department.
The body of Jeremy Booker was found near the Robinson Dam at 9:45 a.m. after he was reported missing about 8 p.m. Saturday, authorities said.
Booker and his fiancée, Kimberly Grimes, were at the river when she slipped on a rock and fell in. He jumped into the water to save her but was pulled under by the dam's water current, authorities said.
Another man reportedly was with them but he was not identified.
Harrison County search and rescue units participated in the search. Harrison County deputy coroner Thomas Ware said arrangements are pending and that the investigation is continuing by the sheriff's office and coroner's office.
