Maysville police arrested three people Monday in connection with the death of a 21-year-old Mason County man whose body was found Friday night.

Maysville Police Chief Ronald Rice identified the three as Matthew Brock, 26; Amber Lovell, 27; and Minnie Robertson, 23.

Rice said the three, all of whom are from Mason County, were charged with first-degree wanton endangerment; additional charges are possible.

Authorities said a passerby discovered Ryan Cooper's body about 6 p.m. Friday in a grassy area along Ky. 8 near the William Harsha Bridge just west of Maysville. Cooper was last seen alive Wednesday, Rice said.

Police were investigating Cooper's death as a homicide, according to The Ledger Independent newspaper in Maysville.

An autopsy has been conducted, but Rice said Monday afternoon that he had not seen results and was not able to release a cause of death.

Rice would not provide further details. He said he did not want to prejudice the case, which remains under investigation.

Mason County Coroner Robert Brothers was out of his office and unavailable for comment Monday, a spokeswoman said.
