The case against a Winchester woman accused of killing her daughter and granddaughter is headed to a Clark County grand jury.

Police accused Lillie Stanton, 48, of stabbing her daughter, Danel Korrey Stanton, 23, and her granddaughter, Kaydence Miers, 22 months, on May 19 at Stanton's home in Winchester. Stanton also stabbed herself. She was being treated at the University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital when she was charged.

The grand jury will consider the charges after the Wednesday morning hearing.

Authorities have said that Stanton committed the killings because she feared that Kaydence Miers' father was about to gain custody or increased visitation rights in a pending custody hearing.

Stanton recently underwent a lengthy evaluation at the Kentucky Psychiatric Center at LaGrange, but findings have not been released.
