Sophomore Bra'Shey Ali will not be returning to the Kentucky women's basketball team this season.
Ali, a 6-foot-2 forward who saw little playing time last season, was dismissed from the team, UK spokeswoman Susan Lax said Friday.
The Plainfield, N.J., native played in 11 games as a freshman, averaging two points, 2.1 rebounds and 7.5 minutes of play.
Ali sat out several games for various violations of team rules. Throughout last season, Coach Matthew Mitchell said Ali had things off the court she needed to work on if she wanted to get on the court.
One instance included her being late to get back from the holiday break. Then once she got back to campus, she showed up late to her punishment the next morning.
"It's irresponsibility," Mitchell said at the time. "She's not a bad kid at all. ... It's my job to try to give her an opportunity to grow into being a responsible young woman."
