Coroner identifies teen killed in Madison Co. wreck

A teen-ager who was killed Sunday in a one-car crash in Madison County has been identified.

Jesse Amburgy was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital in Berea, Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said.

Three other teens were taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The accident occurred about 4:25 p.m. Sunday on Ky. 21 east of Berea. Kelsey Vickers, 18, of McKee was westbound when she lost control of a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix. The car left the road and struck a tree, according to a news release from the Madison County sheriff's office.

Vickers was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea then was transferred to UK Hospital.

Two other teens, 13 and 16, were taken to UK Hospital. Their names were withheld because of their age, police said.

Rain and wet roads contributed to the accident, police said.
