Bourbon man charged after more than 1,000 child-porn images found on computer

Published: August 6, 2012

Attorney General Jack Conway announced Monday the arrest of a Bourbon County man on charges of possession of child pornography after more than 1,800 images were found on a computer.

Paris police officers arrested Brian Hafley, 29, on Thursday on a charge of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. Hafley was being held in the Bourbon County jail, according to a statement from the Attorney General's office.

Hafley's arrest is the result of an undercover investigation that began March 28 by Conway's Cybercrimes Unit. Cybercrimes investigators found more than 1,800 child pornographic images on a computer at Hafley's home in Paris after a search warrant was executed on April 10, the statement said.

Prosecution of the case is being handled by the Office of Gordie Shaw, commonwealth's attorney for the 14th Judicial Circuit, which includes Bourbon, Scott and Woodford counties. The Bourbon County sheriff's department assisted in the case.
