Harold Fletcher Sr., the father of former Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher, died Tuesday at the age of 87.
Harold Fletcher Sr. was preceded in death by his wife Ella Marie Amburgey and their grandson Wesley Fletcher. He is survived by his brother Paul Walters; his daughter, Roberta Fletcher; and three sons, Harold Jr., Larry and Ernie.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Ernie Fletcher, a Republican, served as the 60th governor of the state from 2003 to 2007 before being defeated by Steve Beshear.
After his term as governor, Fletcher founded Alton Healthcare, a Cincinnati-based consulting firm that helps healthcare providers become more technologically efficient in their practices. He is CEO of the company.
